What is an RTO code?
The Regional Transport Office (RTO) code identifies the registering authority for a vehicle. The first four characters of an Indian plate (e.g. TS09) denote the state and city where the vehicle was registered.
Does NumPlate save my data?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your input never leaves your device.
How accurate is the data?
The RTO mapping is compiled from publicly available government records, but some new or reorganised RTOs may not yet be listed. Always verify important details with the official Vahan portal.
